A Tribute to Scooby Dood (Alan Lott)
December 14, 2004
My 15-year-old son, Alan, was Scooby Dood. He created this website completely by himself at the age of 12 years old after learning the programming languages on his own. Maintaining this site and realizing the enjoyment it has brought to so many people gave him more joy than I can express. On December 10, 2004 Alan passed away after a brave battle against cystic fibrosis and after having received two double-lung transplants, one in September 2000 and one in February 2004. If you have wondered why there haven't been many updates in the past year, it is because he has spent most of that time in the hospital fighting for his life. Just a couple of weeks ago he was sitting in his hospital bed typing away on his laptop updating SDNT.
Thank you for visiting his site and helping him to have a goal to work toward and something to look forward to when life was a constant struggle. He never wanted his two worlds of Scooby Dood and his disease to connect because he could be a normal kid (although brilliant) when he was Scooby Dood. I think he would be ok with me revealing his identity now because he wouldn't want his friends to wonder why he stopped updating his site. If you would like to know more about Alan's fight and his faith, please go to our web site, www.alanlott.com. Thanks.
