Tree Replacement Program

Tree Trimming has become a large expense in operating our electric system.    In an effort to reduce this expense, we have initiated the TREE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM.  Our goal is to reduce the number of trees that need to be trimmed, and thereby reduce costs.  And when our expenses are reduced, you benefit as well.

This program also offers another important advantage:  clearer power line "right-of-ways" and therefore reduced chances for power outages.  We believe the TREE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM is definitely a win-win situation for SEPB and all of our customers.

Any tree that is near a power line may be eligible for the program.     The Electric Power Board will remove the tree, brush and stump and plant a replacement tree away from the power line.

The type of trees that are planted as replacements will be lower growing oriental trees.  (Example  Dogwood, Bartlett Pear, )
